Understanding the Design Clearly

Step 1: Get your hands ready Wash your hands well and dry them. If you have oily skin, you can wipe it down with a bit of eucalyptus oil to help the henna adhere better, but don't put on lotion right before.

Step 2: Draw the central flower Start in the middle of your palm. Draw the large circular flower. Fill the very center with a grid or dot pattern, then draw the petals around it. Keep the petals light and open rather than filling them solid.

Step 3: Draw the four paisleys Next, draw the four large paisleys (mango shapes) around the central flower. Outline them first to get the shape right. Then, fill the inside of the paisleys with the fine grid pattern and tiny dots. Try to keep them balanced on both sides.

Step 4: Draw the wristband Move to the wrist. Draw the horizontal lines first, then add the scalloped border. Fill in the floral motifs inside the band and add the small pendant hanging down in the center.

Step 5: Detail the fingers and sides This design has very delicate finger details. Draw the thin floral vines running up each finger, adding small flowers and leaves. Finally, add the small floral motifs along the outer edges of your palms.
